A pet peeve of mine is when people say “Literally” when they are far from it. For example “That literally scared the shit out of me!” Literally? Really? Maybe you shouldn’t be sitting on my couch.
I’d like to add to this complaint. The question “Can I sneak by you?” really bothers me. “No, you can’t sneak by me. Maybe you could have if you hadn’t asked me. But now I know you are there. If you do manage to sneak by me, I’ll be amazed. Good luck.”
